Volunteers

On the last Tuesday of each month our Bason volunteers meet in the vicinity of the Homestead Garden, where they may be involved in potting up, weeding and general maintenance. From June to September they meet at 1pm, all other months at 10.30am.

Work is generally light and lasts for from one to three hours according to needs of both the garden and the individual volunteer’s availability.

We are always on the lookout for more volunteers and encourage plant enthusiasts of all ages to contribute and enjoy helping to keep the gardens looking their best. Anyone interesting in joining this friendly group should ring Janice 06 3442495 or John 06 3456417

Sponsors and benefactors

These wonderful people enable dreams to become realities. Much of the progress of the Bason is dependent on donations of time, expertise and finance, for which the Trust is very appreciative. If you would like to make a project donation, an endowment or gift of a memorial feature please contact the BBG Trust – basonbotanicgardens@gmail.com

Bequests and donations may go towards

  • Enhancement of the Endowment Fund to further develop the Bason as a place where people come for leisure, rest, recreation and botanical and environmental education
  • Garden projects like the Lakeside walkway project
  • Memorial feature such as a seat
  • Plant collection development
  • Plant labelling – an ongoing project
  • Other structural enhancements

Please see our latest Strategic Plan for future projects.

We welcome your interest and involvement!
