The Fernhouse was donated by the Boothby family in memory of Director of Parks Mel Boothby. It features native ferns and other shade-loving plants. The fernhouse was renovated in 2021 and the collection includes native ferns such as: Leptolepia novae-zelandiae (Lace fern), Phymatosorus diversifolius (Hounds tongue) and Ptisana salicina (King fern).
