Hi there from Bason Botanic Homestead Garden. I’m Veronica Smith and I’ve been working in this amazing garden for nearly three years. Throughout this time I have met many gifted people. I have been lucky enough to have lived in Stanley Bason’s dream and develop it with the team. I have studied and completed my horticultural papers right here in this mini treasure.

The homestead garden is wonderful and a beautiful living movement of colour, constantly changing throughout the seasons. One can see the structure of the garden beds change as the perennials, bulbs and herbaceous plants flash into their magnificent displays. With time we hope the gardens will bloom into something bigger and better each year, under our guidance.

One of the most rewarding gifts of working in this garden unseen, is hearing our visitors being inspired and seeing them snapping photos and taking home ideas for their own gardens. It is wonderful.
